Lift reconstruction - Prague, Cihlářská

In early September, a comprehensive overhaul of the elevators in the apartment block Cihlářská 781 and 782 was completed. During the work the old elevators, including the machine room, were dismantled, the elevator shaft was deepened, new elevators (including the engine room) were installed and the lift portals were cleaned. A great advantage of the new system is that the lifts now continue to the top apartments instead of stopping at the mezzanine and they now continue down to the basement.  Additionally, both new elevators are aesthetically more pleasing as well as being more economical.

During the summer, it was realized that the facing of the apartment block at Benkova needed replacing.  The reconstruction concerned the "pillars" of the loggias and the removal of existing tiles and railings. Balcony walls were insulated, new tiles were laid and new railings fitted.
This most challenging part of the renovation of the housing is now complete and it is hoped to finish the job completely in the near future.
The apartment block now has better insulation, surface stability and safety but also significantly better aesthetic appeal as a result of this work.

In parallel with the reconstruction of loggia the roof cladding (insulation, waterproofing, fans, ...) was completely replaced thus reinforcing the energy efficiency of the apartment block and ensuring trouble-free maintenance for many years.

After two months’ work the restoration of the facade of an apartment building in 1 May Street in Hradek nad Nisou has been completed.

Our company decided to restore the original appearance of the façade and the work was as time-consuming as it was technologically challenging. It proved to be a complex problem, for example to restore a sandstone plinth, which had been heavily damaged over the years (by erosion of material and asphalt seepage and so on).

In early May, elevators were changed in Benkova 1694 and 1695 apartment houses. In the course of the work, the old elevators were removed, the elevator shafts were refurbished, new elevators (including machine rooms)  were installed, and the elevator portals were neatened. 

The new elevators are not only larger and more pleasing to the eye, but also more economical.

Legal disputes surrounding the property in Velke Prilepy from the moment we bought it from the bankruptcy trustee H - System have been resolved. The dispute with the Sýkorovi couple over the use of house number 451 has been resolved by mutual consent and the house has been cleared and handed over. At the same time, we closed an agreement with SBD Svatopluk clarifying the ownership of buildings on the land in Velke Prilepy.

With this situation resolved we can now start construction of the road in Sukova street which will begin as early as this week.

During last month, water pipes were replaced in apartment houses 781 and 782 Cihlářská Street. By modernizing the old system which did not meet today's standards, the final stage of complete refurbishment has been completed.

CIB is building smoking pavilions in the Balabenka building to improve the working environment for everyone.  Although CIB’s aim is to have completely non-smoking working spaces, we must accept the fact that for many people smoking is part of their lifestyle. If we are unable to completely eradicate this bad habit from our buildings, we can at least try to create an environment in which tobacco smoke from smokers does not bother non-smoking colleagues or visitors to our property in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance.

On 1 December 2014, CIB Group handed newly renovated office space in the Delta House building to the law firm ERHARTOVÁ VÍTEK & PARTNERS. The law firm moved from their previous site in Nad Petruskou street to Delta House, Šafaříkova 17, Prague 2 - Vinohrady. Delta House’s successful tender for the law firm’s new headquarters was brokered by  Cushman & Wakefield s.r.o.  With an area of almost 500 m2 the office space was prepared  by CIB GROUP within three months.

The company Window Holding a.s. has opened its new showroom in the Balabenka building at Českomoravská 1, Prague 9 - Liben.

Window Holding a.s. , which is the largest manufacturer of windows in the Czech market and who manufactures its products in 5 modern plants in the Czech Republic, is showcasing its three major brands - Vekra, Otherm and TWW – in the 450 m2 showroom.

One of the most well-known multi-purpose buildings in the city centre, Slovanský dům, has changed hands. US investment company Invesco Real Estate successfully completed the sale. The buyer was the investment company FID Group cooperating with Russian investors.

Slovanský dům is one of the most significant office and retail buildings in Prague with a total area of more than 22,000 m2 of commercial space leased by global companies NIKE, Cinema City, Bloomberg, ECE and many other major brands.

CIB GROUP together with Wilson & Parners provided counselling and legal advice for the buyer.  Havel & Holásek represented the interests of the sellers.

On 1 November 2014 CIB GROUP welcomed a major new tenant to its Balabenka building at the intersection of Sokolovská and Českomoravská in Prague 9 - Liben.  The area of almost 1,000 m2 will be used for a showroom and administrative space for Czech members of the American concern Jarden Corporation (www.jarden.com).  A major multinational group, Jarden Corporation is known in our market, among others its brands include Coleman, Campingaz, Spontex, Soke, K2 and Sevylor.

Preparation of the newly leased office space to ‘A’ standard was carried out by Skanska a.s.  

The newly prepared representative areas underscores the high standard of the Class "A" building Balabenka.

Recently, a renovation of roof covering of an office building on Čerčanská, Praha 4, settlement of Ředitelstvi silnic a dálnic (ŘSD), has been finished. The renovation included insulation and regeneration plantings of green roof.
